A fair paper that followed the layout of previous years and held no big surprises. Students who were well prepared and had spent time practising previous exam questions would have been happy and with the choices available on both sides of the paper and with the phrasing of questions.

The 2023 Leaving Certificate Spanish Higher Level paper was considered interesting,  accessible and generally fair, though a number of students commented that the Listening contained some tricky elements when compared with previous years’ papers.

The 2023 LC Agricultural Science paper was a much welcome reprieve from the earlier exams of this refreshed curriculum.

The New Leaving cert Art “Visual studies” 2023 was examined for the very first time in a paper which mixed contemporary with the well-known classics like the Romanesque and Pre-Christian periods.

Overall, a challenging, but fair paper. The well-prepared student was granted the opportunity to excel. This paper had good choice, with questions suited to all students, and did not veer too drastically away from the syllabus and textbook knowledge.

Construction Studies exam paper 2023 would have left students in the Class of 2023 very happy. A very current and topical paper with a focus on a wide range of construction and architectural design topics.

Both the Leaving Certificate Higher Level French written and aural paper were very pleasant, and students were able to choose from a nice selection of topics, including holidays, friendship, social media, online education and going to university.

The Higher-level Biology paper was fair and balanced with plenty of choice. Students had the opportunity to answer the full paper while avoiding less popular or trickier questions.
