The 2024 Leaving Certificate Spanish Higher Level paper was well received by Yeats students and was consistent with recent years in terms of the level of difficulty encountered, though the Listening, as we have come to expect, contained some tricky elements and required some quite specific details in places for full marks.
The well-prepared student was granted the opportunity to excel. This paper had good choice, with questions suited to all students, and did not veer too drastically away from the syllabus and textbook knowledge.
The 2024 Ag. Science paper provided ample choice for students and presented a very accessible challenge across the board. There was a lot of choice throughout, covering the expected areas of livestock, crops, and soil.
The 2024 Construction Studies exam paper was well-received by students, offering a balance of challenging and approachable questions.
The Visual Art was a well-balanced paper overall. I would say it was well received by students.
Although perhaps not as pleasant as last year’s written paper, students remained very positive about the Leaving Certificate Higher Level French written exam.
Friday afternoon’s Maths paper 1 was a very straightforward exam. Section A consisted of six questions and students were required to answer five.
A well thought out exam which included fair questions on key areas of the course which are usually present on the exam, as well as a good mix of Unit three questions in Sections A and C to give students plenty of choice and the opportunity to show their learning.
