There were scenes of jubilation at Yeats College Galway and Waterford as students received their Leaving Certificate results on Tuesday.
Results achieved by the students in this year’s examinations were exceptional, with a large number delighted to have been offered their first choice College course when the CAO offers were made on Thursday.
The Yeats College class of 2019 performed extremely well in their Leaving Certificate examinations, with numerous students scoring 600 points or over.
One ecstatic student was Adithi Gowda from Galway City who achieved the maximum number of 625 points in her Leaving Certificate and now intends to study Medicine at NUI, Galway. Adithi also achieved a phenomenal score of 216 in her HPAT exam, putting her in the top one percentile nationally for the pre-Med exam. Adithi completed the two year programme at Yeats College and thanked the teachers and staff for helping her to achieve her goal.
Repeat Leaving Certificate Student Andrew Currid from Westport achieved an impressive 601 points and also scored highly in the HPAT exam. Delighted with his fantastic results, Andrew said “I’m overjoyed. Repeating was definitely the best decision I’ve ever made. Thank you.” Andrew is now looking forward to a place on his first choice CAO course, Medicine at UCD.
