Introducing Yeats College

Yeats College is a private, co-educational day school with state-of-the-art campuses on College Road in Galway City centre and Parnell Street in Waterford city. Founded in 1992, the college has since built a reputation for educational excellence.

Our proven ethos in education empowers students to face the challenges ahead with a confidence and determination that is much more than an academic skill – it is a life lesson well learned and an essential preparation for the open journey of life.

Inspirational Teachers

Each member of the Yeats College teaching staff has been carefully selected for their expertise in their chosen field, with many holding higher and Masters Degrees in their respective subject areas.

The majority of the full time teaching staff has been with the College for over ten years, and is a major component in the continued success of Yeats College.

Study Skills and Supervised Study

A major part of the Yeats College curriculum is centered on study skills. Our teachers impart strategies and skills that will help the student understand, remember and recall the necessary detail required at examination time.

Our study skills seminars involve developing the techniques and attitude necessary to cope with the rigorous workload of the Leaving Certificate exams. Click here for more information.

Grammar School Building Restoration

The Erasmus Smith Grammar School on College Road is an important part of Galway’s historical heritage. Designed by Richard Morrison in 1807, the building had been lying derelict since the departure of NUI Galway in 1993. A careful restoration project began in 2006 and the building has finally been returned to its original glory with the addition of a modern wing.

Morrison’s vision was to create an outstanding educational environment and this vision has been reinstated by Yeats College.
